Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 on September 22 at $4 and $20 per million tokens, with answers it says are 40 percent less verbose and a medium default effort. It beats Fable 5.1 on Terminal-Bench, and it's the first release since Anthropic called for pacing the frontier.
